How To
Prepare for Your Call
If you have scheduled a discovery call using the link provided, you will be asked to call or Zoom (optional) with Dr. Egeland at the prescheduled time. During this call you can discuss your reasons for connecting with Aura Functional Medicine and get a feeling for our approach to functional medicine.

What About Additional Testing?
If there is additional testing required (as recommended by your doctor) based on the nuances of your case, this will be discussed with you before progressing, and you can choose how you would like to proceed. Any supplements are personalized for your health needs and will be at an additional cost to the program.
What To Expect
After Your Call
After your discovery call, our Patient Coordinator will help you get started by scheduling your first appointment, providing access to our secure patient portal (where you can complete your New Patient Health Questionnaire and submit your previous health records), and sending a copy of our electronic consent forms.
Your Comprehensive New Patient Consultation
Prior to your first appointment, your doctor will have already reviewed your intake forms and previous health records. Then, you’ll have a 2-hour visit with your doctor to explore your entire health and family history, your health concerns, what you’ve already been doing, and everything else that is relevant to where you are right now.
If indicated, your doctor may perform a physical examination. They will also order a personalized set of lab tests for you to gather evidence of exactly what’s going on in your body.
Your Personalized Aura Treatment Plan
Once your doctor receives your new lab results has thoroughly reviewed the information she’s gathered so far, you’ll attend a 90-minute session where your doctor will present her findings and provide you with your personalized Aura Functional Medicine Treatment Plan. Your plan may include nutritional, herbal, homeopathic, and/or lifestyle strategies and, while our recommendations are gentle, they are very effective. Your plan will be designed to facilitate your body’s own self-healing mechanisms in the most efficient way.
We Guide You Through Healing
You will meet with your doctor once a month to reassess your symptoms and make any necessary tweaks to your plan. This helps to ensure that you are consistently making progress toward your health goals. And if you ever feel stuck, you can reach out to your doctor in between appointments for extra support.
